From time to time we have aircraft for sale that we have had rebuilt.

We have always believed that some of the aircraft purchased from insurance companies, having been declared an " insurance write off " can be returned to service.  In many cases the insured value did not reflect the aircrafts true value, or was depreciated because of the avionics fitted or high engine hours.

PA38-112 Tomahawk G-BGRR purchased from insurers after suffering nose wheel collapse at Woodford.  After a shock load inspection had been carried out on the engine and the prop had been repaired a Kosola repaired engine mount and overhauled leg were fitted and the aircraft flown out to Bagby for repairs to be completed.  It was then sold to a Flying Club at Cardiff.

By selective purchasing we have been able to rebuild aircraft for return to service.  In many cases the work has been carried out in areas that are inaccessible during a normal C. of A., whilst a shock load inspection on a part life engine gives the opportunity to look at the condition of the cam and oil pump which would not otherwise be examined until the engine reached its TBO.
